I have been listening to lots of japanese music these last months, so I wanted to compose a piece based on japanese musical motives.
"Tatemae" is an original piano composition, contrasting most of my music being improvised.
Its name comes from the japanese words "honne" and "tatemae", the latter meaning façade, the expected behavior and opinions shown in public. I feel like out of all my music, this is the side most people will enjoy, what they expect from music.
On the other side, "honne" means the true feelings and desires of a person. But there is no piece of mine called "honne" since all my music expresses my true feelings, as a trait from improvisation.

Llevo estos últimos meses escuchando un montón de música japonesa, así que quise componer una pieza basada en motivos musicales japoneses.
"Tatemae" es una composición original a piano, a diferencia del resto de mi música que suele ser improvisada.
Su nombre viene de las palabras "honne" y "tatemae", esta última significando fachada, el comportamiento y opiniones mostrados en público. Siento que, de toda mi música, esta es la faceta que a más gente le va a gustar, lo que creo que esperan de la música.
Por otro lado, "honne" hace referencia a los sentimientos y deseos verdaderos de una persona. Pero no hay ninguna pieza mía que se llame "honne" ya que toda mi música expresa mis verdaderos sentimientos, como consecuencia de la improvisación.
